How to install tvheadend and scan Satellite DVB-S/S2 channels

Goal of this video tutorial is to teach you how to install tvheadend and scan Satellite DVB-S/S2 channels on WeTek Play with OpenELEC.

Usually, when scanning channels with tvheadend it is enough to create Satellite (Network), and to choose from list of Satellite, Satellite at which your antenna is aligned.

For example, when creating Network (Satellite), and your Satellite dish is tuned to Astra 19.2E, you will only need to select 19.2E Astra from list of Satellites.

After you finished creating network, assign this network to one of two DVB-S2 adapters, and enable it.

When scanning is done, click on Services tab, and then click on Map All button, from where you can map all channels which will be available on your OpenELEC installation.

Goal of this video tutorial is to teach you how to install tvheadend and scan DVB-C channels on WeTek Play with OpenELEC.

Usually, when scanning channels with tvheadend it is enough to insert only one frequency, as all other frequencies will be discovered from NIT and automatically scanned.

WeTek Hybrid tuner for DVB-C/T/T2 only require frequency to perform scan, so you don't need to worry about SR and other parameters.

tvheadend require from user to enter frequency in Hz (hertz), and usually we know frequency in MHz, so for one example 602 MHz in Hz will be 602000000, and 602000000 will be value which we will enter in Frequency (Hz): field in tvheadend. As Delivery system, you can choose DVBC/ANNEX_A.

When scanning is done, click on Services tab, and then click on Map All button, from where you can map all channels which will be available on your OpenELEC installation.

Hello,

This step by step tutorial, will help in How to remove RF unit from WeTek.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
This tutorial it's to help some user's that have 2 or more WeTek at home.
Beware of any damage you might do in your WeTek.
Follow the tutorial at your own risk!
If any component is damage, we won't take any responsability!
First of all, plug off every cable/microSD/HDD you have connected on your WeTek.

For this tutorial you need
1 Screwdriver like the image below



If you have a tuner plugged, unplugged like the image





Now, we need to remove this 4 rubber's and underneath it, the screw's as well
Don't forget the screw in the middle





now, remove the 4 screw's



Now, we're going to open WeTek case, as i said before USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Please see the pictures first, then try to open WeTek!

Very carefully push the case off



At the back


In the front


After opening the case, beware with the Wifi adaptor (image below)



Now, let's remove the RF Unit from WeTek

In the image below, you have to "tokens" plugged.
One black, other red.



Plug out the black one like the image below

Hello,

Here you can download picons for Astra 19.2E

Very easy to install them

With Winscp connect to your WeTek (openelec)



1) Create a folder and name it "Picons"

2) After the folder is Created, copy/paste all the picons inside the folder




Now, let's go to TVH



1) Click on configuration
2) Click on General
3) Scroll down a bit and when you see "Picon path (see help)
type file:///storage/Picons
4) Save configuration

Reboot your WeTek, and it's done!


NOTE: Not all of your channels will have picons (some picons are missing)

If you have them, please let me know, and i'll update the file :D

[ABM-MISC] New custom features in ABM!

Looking to create an ABM maintained Freesat FTA bouquet listing, and have some questions

1) If I want to remove a few channels i.e. not have them appear in the all channel listing or the non indexed bouquet, do I need to use the full version of my renamed generated EXAMPLE custom lsn file and just delete the channels I don't want and then rescan?

2) If I want to change the order of the channels in the standard bouquets, do I use the renumber lcn option with a full customlcn file to get the order I want?

3) If I want to add in some extra channels from the non indexed bouquet to the standard bouquets i.e. Entertainment, Music, should I use the channels_to_add{} list in the provider file (uses channel names), or should I use the newer my_favourites{} list (uses channel numbers) in a modified provider file!
e.g.want to add some of the fta music channels to the freesat music bouquet

From reading some of postings on ABM, I'm not sure if using a full customlcn is the way to go!

Any comments?

i don't know if this is possible, but just an idea.
it would be great if one could choose the image required for a particular receiver, then choose what skins, cams, settings etc in an "add to cart" kind of way.
maybe even extend the options to plugins, picons and more.
once the shopping list is compiled, download to usb then flash the receiver with everything loaded & ready to use.
i know image and settings backups can be made once the image is installed, but whenever a fresh flash is required it is often advised not to use these backups.
it might be a logistical nightmare or not even possible, it's just an idea.

New box

Hi all,

First of all, i'm completely new to this scene,

I currently have a cloud ibox 2 plus box, runs fine, running latest TSMEDIA and enigma2, but if i go to movies&series litterally non of them work, i always get a add on error, yet the guy who i got it from all of his work and he lives round the corner from me but he is on a upgraded box

Looking to upgrade to a vu solo 2 box this week, I checked at his house the settings for say movie25 and his are exactly the same as mine yet mine doesnt work (add on error) yet his works absolutely perfectly

Everything else with the box works fine,

Any suggestions? (Like i say im new with this, i have gone into different settings on the box but I don't change things as I don't know what they mean)

All help is appreciated for I am a complete n00b at this :)

sound no picture

Hi all new here
bought my solo2 from WOS on friday and have a problem , i have had it all set up and running with the image it came with but i have had to connect with a scart lead as only 1 hdmi which is in use ,
we had a power cut yesterday and when my box restarted i had sound but the screen was black , i had to do a factory reset to get the picture back, just had another power cut and the same has happened any ideas how to get my picture back with out going threw a factory reset again

Thinking of changing receivers from TM-Nano2 Super to Xtrend ET8000

Would anyone recommend to me changing from a Technomate TM-Nano2 Super to an Xtrend ET8000 from experience ?

The reason being is that I have had a Technomate Nano2 Super for a year now and quite often it will freeze whilst channel hopping or playing back recorded video and I am wondering if an Xtrend ET8000 would be more reliabile, has anyone had experience of an Xtrend ET8000 ?

I'm sure the problems are not related to images loaded on the box as this has been happening with various VIX images and 4D (OpenPLi based) images.

Can anyone recommend Xtrends, or other brands that might be more reliable than Technomate Nano2 Super's ?

Just can't get picons working - any advice from the veterans please

Ive downloaded 'tv-ocram.hd.transparent-black' Picon set which I'm hoping will work for freesat channels

I have the file downloaded to a usb stick in the back of my VU SOLO2 and cannot get them to show

Am i using the correct picon set ? , Ive also tried downloading them to flash but still cant get it to work

The usb stick has a folder called picon but it just wont work

Any help MUCH appreciated

Is it possible to get ABM to display the LCN for each channel from multiple providers?

eg channel 1 on the box could be BBC1 from Sky Uk/Freesat but something like BBC1 from VM would then be in the high 1000's, could it be made to display the LCN like with Lraizers AB? See image

Changing region ?

Guys,
Tm nano 3t, openvix hades, sat only
When we were on itv I noticed when the local news came on it was Granada and not my local tyne-tees area.
How do I go about changing it?

I've not got a favourites, just all channels as they come, so I need to change the itv in the main list...
If you know what I mean.

Unfortunately I'm just a switch on and go user, so not that good at doing the obvious .
