[VU+ Duo2] Cross EPG only updating some channels.

Dear all,

Over the past month or so I notice that Cross EPG is only updating some of my channels. I am using my dish for FTA channels on 28.2 (UK, BBC etc).

I have Cross EPG setup with Open TV providers - Sky UK Open TV. I have run this very successfully for the past 3-4 years with my old VU+Duo and then my VU+Duo 2. But in the past month or so, many of my channels are getting no EPG update. See image below, this shows some of the channels affected. other channels that are not being updated include CBS Drama, more>movies, Sony TV, True Ent, Motors TV UK, Showcase, etc.

I have tried using XMLTV Providers - Rytec UK XMLTV, but I find that it takes ages to run (15+ minutes, as it constantly seems to parse stuff) and I find it not 100% accurate. Also it too skips one or two channels.

I store my epg on a usb stick. I have reformatted this, I have tried defragging database etc. No matter what I do, the channels I mention above get no Epg update. As I say, this issue has been noticeable for the past month - 6 weeks or so. I was so happy with Open TV, it used to run so quickly. Has anyone any ideas why this is happening and is there anything I can do to resolve ?

[ViX_Misc] Cannot see VU+ Zero in PC's "Network" anymore.

I've been blessed with years of trouble free operation from Vix 2.0!
I have been using a VU+ Duo, and apart from doing the Capacitor fix has also been good. (Until a few weeks a go!)

Given that i haven't had any issues, you can image i have been reluctant to mess with anything. After twice swapping capacitors on my VU+ Duo, it finally refused to boot. I didn't fancy changing the power regulator or paying to have somebody else do it. So i ordered a VU+ Zero from WOS last week. I asked for VIX 3.2 to be pre-installed. Setting everything up was fairly straight forward apart from a small niggle involving seeing the new box on my PC's network.

My old VU+ DUO used to show up in "My PC" - "Network" etc. From there, i could access VAR/ETC without having to use any other FTPing software. I'm wondering what has changed with my new setup. Windows 10 does not see my new Zero box. Therefore i had to download some FTPing software, just to add some files. Any ideas why or what i maybe did years ago to make my DUO box visible in Windows 10 "Netwrok"? Ie, is it a Windows 10/VIX 3.2/Zero problem?

My second niggle is the remote's "Channel UP/Down" buttons. There used to be an option of swapping those buttons to pages UP/Down instead. I use the D button to scroll channels in menus so find the page skip feature much faster. Anybody know where in VIX3.2 this option is? (assuming it is even an option now etc)

[SF8HD / XP1000] Can't Flash cus i think the memory is full

Hi guys

I got an old xp1000 which is stuck on the boot up screen show openvix.
When I try to flash the box it doesn't work. It flashes for around 20 seconds then aborts.
I aint gotta a clue on telnet but managed to scan the box using df -h

[VU+ Solo2] Can we get a YouTube plugin built into OpenVix?

I've been using OpenVIX from the start but recently tested a few other images. The Blackhole image was a bit overcomplicated but YoTube was built into the image and worked just like the YouTube on my FireTV and ChromeCast.

Is there any way to do this on OpenVix? I use YouTube a lot so I'm considering trying to get used to Blackhole just for that feature.

Live Football via Ts media or Kodi

I've been trying to watch some live football via the streams in Kodi or Ts media but not having any luck getting them to work. Movies work fine with both but just no luck with the football and I've went through every addon etc on both, is there any other options to watch live sports via the duo 2 and solo 2?

[VU+ Duo2] Not playing rtsp stream

Wondering if anyone else is having problems playing an rtsp stream? It just won't work for me.

I have a CCTV camera, and I used to be able to view it just fine on Hades using the following in my favourites:

I have switched back and forth between Hades, Apollo and 3.2 and only 3.2 has a problem playing this.

The stream works totally fine using VLC on a PC and even the CamoFS plugin can see it.

I originally had basic auth on the stream, so the format was rtsp://user:pass@10.66.77.15 but I disabled that to try and keep it simpler to debug this. I thought it might be related to this gstreamer bug, but it seems not.

Any help is appreciated.

Hard Drive Options

Hopefully my new solo 2 should be here from WOS on monday, one quick question regarding hard drives. To get me started I have a 500GB seagate usb external drive, however I have an old SlyHD box sitting with probably a 3.5 500gb hard drive in it, is it worth fitting to the solo 2. I dont plan on recording a massive amount

gigablue hd quad plus with latest vix installed

iv set the box up following this guide http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...x-set-up-guide

hd is mounted

im using satellite 2 feeds with search im getting 900 odd channel's , i can get FTA but when it comes down to the softcams ccam or mgcamd is just not working iv used filezilla to add my subscription

im starting to give up with this box i thought it would of been easier to set up than this

if anyone can help id most appreciate it

[ABM-MISC] ITV HD channel scanned by ABM doesn't match local region.

In total there are at least 17 ITV regions, so you can get news and advertising aimed at your local region. For example, if you want the latest update on a cat stuck up a tree in Weston-Super-Mare you need to be on ITV West Country, but you won't be able to see that news in HD because there are only 6 ITV HD regions and ITV West Country is not one of them.

The provider (ITV), not the maintainers of ABM, decides which HD region is most appropriate for you based on the area you select. If you are not happy with this situation please complain to ITV.

This has been asked numerous times. People are obviously not reading the forum before posting repeat questions.

Hi,

I've been messing with this for a while now, and can't for the life of me work out if it's possible.

I've got 2 DVB-S2 tuners - is it possible to "pin" a different softcam to each tuner - I need tuner A to use cccam and tuner B to use mgcamd. I'm very happy in a UNIX shell and don't mind doing a spot of C/C++ to implement the functionality if needs be.

I must say, the Vu+ Duo 2 is a stunning piece of kit - best gadget I've bought in years!

Openvix itself is awesome. Keep up the good work.

I have the open pli 4.0
Enigma 2 and at my bouquet channel i use the
certain channel when boots the receiver to open at
That channel.
after last soft upgrade this start up channel service stop
Working and its opening at th first channel that i have at my bouquet
Of channeles .
Can anyone help me??
I use a certain cartoon channel for my child and
He knows how to open the receiver only.

Hey guys iv got my 1m motorised dish installed with help from you guys (Yes you guys are the best... and u know it) but when i checked ABM built in to vic image it shows inly certain satellites like austria,Sly Italia, Francesat, Sly Germany etc but i know i can get the others like 0.8w etc without doung a blind search n sit there for a day doing it one by one...

Morning forum

Just a quick question I have just flashed by vu duo + twin tuner box with vix software I am a newbie by the way so please excuse any stupid questions.
I am setting up my box with various info on this site and I must say the site is fantastic. My question is I have sky dish and a dish pointing at hot bird. Do I need a Disecq switch if so which one should I get to be able to record and watch from sky and still have my hot bird working?

I was going to buy a 4x1 switch but I'm not sure it's what I need. Any advice would be great.
