I currently maintain the kodi pvr addon for Enigma2. Recently users have requested support for IPTV via their Enigma2 devices. The support I added is simply to extract the IPTV URL from the stream URL if they have the IPTV provider set up in a bouquet on their E2 device.
This works OK, however as the URL is just passed to kodi they only have two options on playback, Stop and record (on the device). The addon can't offer timeshift as it's doesn't handle the stream directly like regular DVB channels.
Should it be possible to treat an IPTV stream just like a DVB one so the experience can be consistent across both DVB and IPTV?
Note, I am only working with users who use legal providers and provide zero support to anyone acting illegally.

Hi I am receiving an error message when attempting to perform a software update or initialise Download Plugins.
It says "there has been an error please try later. if error persists check world of satellite.com"
Can someone please direct me further as not sure where to start .
I currently have VIX 4.1.016 on my VU+ Duo

Everything has been working fine for years, updating via online and image method when new major release.
Auto bouquet maker runs on schedule 4:30am and progress shows numbers incrementing for Freeview and Freesat scan.
Updated to 5.3.001 and not working now for Freeview at least. Says cannot read data. Doesn't find transponder. Did a tune again since it had been a while which was fine and channels work fine. Just not ABM.
Any ideas or wait for fix? Tuners are set to Crystal Palace and ABM set for London.

I have a Vu+ and a Tiviar Alpha on the same LAN and can transfer recordings from the Vu+ box to the Tiviar.
I also want to do the reverse, i.e. transfer files from the Tiviar to the Vu+ box however, when I go to the Tiviar box and browse the network mounts, the Tiviar will only see the NAS drive that I have and not the Vu+ box.
Do I have to remove the Tiviar mount from the Vu+ box before I can mount the Vu+ box on the Vitiar? :confused:

Hello Guys!
I have updated my Gigablue HD 800 SE Plus, to OpenVix, but the last versions that supports my receiver is the OpenVix 4.4.028.
Where can i get the last oscam version support by this package, openvix 4.2 on gigable HD800SE Plus.
note: i have tried oscam:
enigma2-plugin-cams-oscam_1.20.r8625_mipsel.ipk
enigma2-plugin-cams-oscam_1.20.r9059_mipsel.ipk
Both on the openvix site but when i click start on GUI it says there is no configuration files no /etc/tuxbox/config or /etc/tuxbox/config/oscam, i have put the config files oscam.conf , oscam.user, oscam.server on both that folders buto no luck.
I have tried
enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-11521_1.20+svn11521-r0_mips32el.ipk
enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-latest_1.20+svn11487-r0_mips32el.ipk
But no luck there as expected, there is some error on installation errors with librarys.
Pleeeeease give an ipk that works... thanks

I no longer have this plugin installed but neither do I have the associated error message. Have my settings remembered what I entered all that time ago or will I have to reinstate the plugin after a clean install?

On the new version of openvix-5.3.001.release-zgemmah7_usb.zip KODI not working on addons-feed
it installs the kodi but does not run it from the plugin.
while on the old version
openvix-5.2.040.release-zgemmah7_usb.zip
KODI works without problems
fix it if you can, or from the version 5.2 feed switch to 5.3 if it's not a second nature kernel, driver etc ...

Is there currently a source of BASIC UK picons for UK Freeview and 28.2E?
I don't mean the type of MK picon images at
http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/d...channel-icons/
which all have photo type background with a small channel ID in a corner and, in my opinion, cannot be easily identified in a graphical EPG
Example

Ideally what I'm looking for is a picon image that only has the logo shown the MK picon images occupying the top left hand 6th/8th of the image area.

which contain some of the type I'm after but unfortunately for most UK channels there appear to be zero byte files in the download.
A few years ago there were suitable picon downloads in the "download plugins" facility but these seem to have now be removed.

Hello,
i have done some configuration to openvix:
- install additional tv picons on /icons/ path
- I use LCD4Linux of Openwebif to configure LCD (disable LCD when receiver is shutdown and change picons path)
The problem is that every time I update openvix or there is a power failure in my house, I need to do again the same. It is a bit annoying.
Do you have any recommendation to avoid to reconfigure openvix so often?

I was wondering if it would be possible to include Comskip as a package for Vix so commercial skipping could be done on the Engima2 device.

I think I could manage to build a tool and interface to run it on recordings overnight however I wouldn't know how to do compile the actual binary for Enigma2.
Overall where I would like to get to is having the recordings scanned by comskip and EDL files created in the background when the device is idle.

Hi,
I have some recordings on my box.
I'm wondering if I can access them over the network, specifically from a raspberry pi on my network running debian?
I have recording and some other films I've put into a sub-folder in my recording folder, named "Downloads", but openWebIf doesn't behave as expected (doesn't show sub-folders, just files at that level) so I was hoping to find another way.
Ideally one that I can visit via a web browser, as I want to temporarily open my box to the network and send my IP to a family member so they can access one of the files.
So web based is preferable, but I might have to go the route of FTP.

Hello,
Really sorry if this has been covered before but I'm trying to get my Plex server to connect with a DVR under the Live TV section. The DVR is an Enigma2 box running OpenVIX with the HRTunerProxy plugin, I'm initially able to get Plex to see the device but only by manually entering the IP address with the port number, but when I go to scan channels it says 'Could not communicate with the device'. I've been trying to search for the answer in forums but I'm completely lost. Could someone please help? thank you

Is there any way of using the EPG gained from the cross-epg plug-in on 28.2E to populate the EPG on the channels of 27.5W without having to resort to epg import, which isn't always possible when away from the internet?
