hi don't know any thing about iptv or box but can you watch iptv and record another programme on this box or any other box please thanks mial

Hello, from Ireland and requesting help selecting box...

Hello,
I'm hoping to buy my first proper satellite box, so could do with some help deciding what I need to get.
Currently I have the old satellite dish that came with the house when we moved in.
So its a bit rusty and has a single LNB. But it works fine using the built in tuners in the LG TV.

I'm mainly unhappy with the non-integrated EPG.. saorview channels on one EPG and a rigmarole to switch over to the separate satellite channel EPG... heh..
Also, the recording facilities.. I can only record what I'm currently watchin...pain in the...

I'm in Ireland so I need a combo box I presume.. want to get the terrestrial channels (saorview ) and the UK channels off the freesat.

But most combo boxes seem to have two satellite tuners and only one terrestrial (T2 is it?) tuner..
I find that I'd want to record one terrestrial channel while watching another terrestrial one more often than I'd want to record a satellite channel..
(say if I leave the pro14 rugby recording while the missus uses the TV to watch eastenders)

So, first question, do I need to get a box with two terrestrial tuners ?

We used to have cable TV from Virgin Tv and we never had any hassle having a coupla different recordings going while watchin something else..
So I'd like to get back to that kind of flexibility..

Second Question.. does FBC give me that for sat channels?

I was looking at a Quad tuner like the Xtrend ET8500 but that seems to be out of production...

Now I'm looking at this maybe?
https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk...mo4k-ultimo-4k

I'm not very clued in on all the technologies.. so if anyone can correct me I'd appreciate it..

But, that dual FBC tuner in slot 1 should allow me a lot of flexibility in recording of satellite channels... right?

And if I put a twin hybrid DVB-T2 in the 3rd slot then wouldn't I get what I want in the terrestrial recording area ?
(ie: watch one without interrupting recording of another?)

Just wondering if there is a cheaper option I'm overlooking?

Also, do I need a special LNB for the FBC tuner? Is it a dual LNB as well?

Thanks for any replies or advice...

PS, what is multistream and should I care?

[Mut@nt] HD51 Use of Left and Right arrows each side of OK

I have asked a question on the forum and not received any help or explanation from anyone as to why these buttons don't work the same as on my TM TM-Nano2 Super in playback mode, despite the fact that both are working with identical software. I have now tried various things, all to no effect. The basic issue is that I would like the Mutant's L and R buttons to work as REW and FF as per the Technomate. In addition to the re-flashing as above, I have tried using both the built in button reassignment facility and MQB, but neither seems to have the capability to program as required. If I use R arrow during playback on the HD51 I get a basically blank box in the centre of the screen but with the digit 5 inserted and highlighted towards the right hand side of the box. Exit removes it. On the TM I get FF by pressing R arrow.

As I said in my post on the forum, I can't understand why a different box, using the same software, works so differently.

Hope you can help with this, as the normal FF and REW buttons are tiny and shit, tucked away between other buttons and make the RC very hard to use.

[ET8500] Xtream Editor App Code 0

Hi All, Appreciate any help or guidance. I use Xtream Editor as my IPTV app. Recently I upgraded the app to 2.12.
After upgrade it stopped working as I cannot get an App code or QR code, it returns 0. Please see attached app.jpg.

I went to Xtream editor website and it states make sure parental control is enabled. So I enabled parental control in Open Vix 5.1.033 and then it worked for a number of days.
However today it has stopped working again. Parental control is enabled. One other thing that Xtream Editor website also states is Activate Multi-Bouquet.

2 Questions

1) Where do I activate Multi-Bouquet on OpenVix 5.1.033 ?
2) Anyone got any other ideas ?

Thanks for your help !

OpenViX 5.2 released!

$

OpenViX 5.2 is based on the OE-Alliance v4.2 core. You cannot perform an online update if you are currently on OpenViX 5.1.xxx or older.

You can download and then flash the new 5.2 image using Image Manager. You can still flash by USB if you prefer.

You can restore settings and plugins from OpenViX 5.1 series images after you have flashed the image. This will restore most things to how you had them before.

RESTORE PROCESS WILL NOT RESTORE PLUGINS THAT ARE NOT ON THE CURRENT PLUGIN SERVER. THESE MUST BE INSTALLED MANUALLY.

There are many guides to flash/restore. Here is another

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...p-and-Restores

So what is different in OpenViX 5.2 then?
OpenViX 5.1 build 033 was the final build in the 5.1 series.

As with previous images, the main differences are core of the image or the OE (Open Embedded). This has undergone a lot of changes, updates and fixes. As a user you should not notice many differences between previous OpenViX 5.1 and OpenViX 5.2 (i.e. there are not many functional differences.)

Main OE Core changes

Based on Openembedded-Core Roko
The main packages and utilities have been updated:
Libc6
Openssh
Busybox
Samba
Openssl
Nfs Util
Dropbear
Bitbake
Gcc 6.3.0 Memleak fix

Known Image issues
Dreamplex - Some users in certain setup's may have issues.

Known Plugin/Receiver issues
Older receivers with lower amounts of memory struggle with downloading OpenTV EPG data using Cross EPG downloader. Use a swap file in such cases.
Some 3rd party plugins may not be currently compatible with OE-A 4.2x core, streaming plugins may require their respective author's to add dependencies for GST 1.xx.
HbbTV not working for all receivers. Please raise issue with respective Manufacturer.

OpenVIX or Enigma2 online emulator

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there's an OpenVIX or Enigma2 online emulator that lets you drive the gui and see what it's like? A bit like what a lot of router and nas companies do like this: https://www.tp-link.com/resources/si...tor/index.html

Also, is there a really good guide to getting started using OpenVIX that details setting timers, etc?

Cheers,

H.

[VU+ Duo2] Installing 5.2.001 - Plugins restore seems to be stuck/hung

$

Hi all,

Have just flashed from 5.1.033 to 5.2.001 using the image manager. I am at the point where it asked if I wanted to do a settings restore. I said yes to both settings and plugins. It has not been on the screen saying something along the lines of "Retrieving plugins please wait..." and has been on that screen for close to 40min now.

I can ssh into the system, but the /root/logs folder is empty. Lookin in /var/logs I see the following

root@vuduo2:/var/log# ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 24 11:03 boot
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9807 Sep 24 11:03 dmesg
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 292 Sep 29 02:13 lastlog
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 30054 Sep 29 02:30 messages
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 36 Sep 29 01:28 postinstall.log
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 Sep 24 11:03 samba
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 3456 Sep 29 02:17 wtmp

One thing I have noticed is the tz on the system is wrong, presumably in UTC. The messages file seems to mostly consist of the following

Sep 29 02:28:01 vuduo2 cron.info crond[1046]: (readme.txt) ORPHAN (no passwd entry)
Sep 29 02:29:01 vuduo2 cron.info crond[1046]: (readme.txt) ORPHAN (no passwd entry)

Sep 29 02:33:01 vuduo2 cron.info crond[1046]: (readme.txt) ORPHAN (no passwd entry)

ad the postinstall.log file only contains these 2 lines

adding crontab
Configuring ntpdate.

Had a look at what processes were running and the package installer was listed, but had <defunct> after it's name. Not entirely sure what that signifies though.

1249 ? 00:00:09 opkg <defunct>

Really couldn't find much else apart from a file called ExtraInstalledPlugins in /var/tmp. It consists of

root@vuduo2:/var/tmp# cat ExtraInstalledPlugins
enigma2-plugin-skins-OverlayHD
enigma2-plugin-extensions-youtube
enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-IanSavOpenViXFeed
enigma2-plugin-extensions-netspeedtest

enigma2-plugin-extensions-tsmedia
enigma2-plugin-extensions-seriesplugin
enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-terminal
enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-vxg
run-postinsts

Lastly I decided to see what network connections were active. There does not appear be any back to any OpenVix server(s).

[Formuler F1] No sound issue - on 5.2

Hi

I have flashed my Formuler F1 with the new openvix-5.2.001.release-formuler1tc.

But I'm having major issues with no sound outputting from the box.

If I flash back to 5.1 the sound works without any issues.

This occurs with and without a settings restore.

Totally confused. The settings that work on 5.1 are attached.

Please help.

[Mut@nt] HD51 Disk initialisation order when waking up from Deep Standby

$

I've posted in the past about a problem with waking up from Deep Standby for a recording and not going back into Standby, but this problem I report here gave me a fright. :(

I flashed my Mut@ant with OpenViX 5.2.001 and rebooted, restored settings, installed e2iplayer which was not reinstalled as part of restoring plugins and thought all was well done.

Then thought of testing to see if waking up from Deep Standby worked as it used to some versions ago, so put it into Deep Standby and a couple of hours later when a recording was meant to have started I went back to it to see if it had succeeded to go into Standby, while it was recording a program. I was confronted with this error message:
Code:

Creating hardlink to timeshift failed!
The filesystem on your Timeshift-Device does not support hard links.
Make sure it is formatted in EXT2 or EXT3.
[Errno 1] Operation not permitted.

I checked the settings to make sure Timeshift was assigned to use the /media/hdd/ drive and not a USB stick I have plugged in for PICONS. The settings were all correct. I looked at the list of recorded programs and then I panicked because all the recordings were gone, except for the recording currently in progress.

I also checked the Recordings settings to see they were assigned to the /media/hdd/ drive as they should be and this setting was also correct.

I stopped the recording and deleted the current timer, unmounted both spinning disk and USB stick and run fsck on both of them. The USB had a dirty bit set. I rebooted and all my recordings were restored. Listing the contents of the USB drive revealed it had been initialised as /dev/sda1 instead of the HDD and therefore it was being used for recordings and timeshift.

Any idea why this happened and how I can avoid this happening in the future? I am avoiding placing the Mut@nt into Deep Standby for now.
