[VU+ Duo2] Newbie problems: PIP, Autobouquets, Picons

I am completely new. Got my VU+ DUO 2 a few days ago and now installed OpenVix.
I have the the following setup (identical for both tuner A and B)
Configuration: Simple
Mode: DiSEqC A/B
Port A: 28.2E
Port B: 19.2E Ku-band

After flashing the new image, I scanned and can get all the services from both satellites.
But PIP is not working. When I active it, I get the PIP of the current channel. SO far so good.But when I then change channel, I get a message "Tune failed" regardless of which channel I change to. The PIP of the previous channel remains, though.

I also cannot get autobouquets to work. I follow the instructions in the manual and then get a message:
Failed to tune FreeSat UK on tuner B
I tried various other providers (Sky, Canal France) and always the same

I also would like to understand how to get Picons to work. I fiddled with some plugins but don't understand how to make them show in the EPQ and on the LCD screen.

Hi Guys

I have a strange issue with my brothers box. So i have an xtrend 10000 with a static IP address. I have a vu solo 2 in the extension and and an edision in the living room. My brother has an xtrend 8000. Each receiver has their own static IP address. All boxes are connected via ethernet but for some reason by brothers et8000 randomly disconnects. Until i restart the box it would re-connect back. I can tell this happens because i have all receivers profiles on my phone and i get a response from each one but wont get one for him. It would sometimes fix itself and come back online. Any idea why this could happen.

VU+Solo 2 SE Tuner problem

I've started getting "Tuner failed" notifications on my second DVB-C - B Tuner.
The configuration is no different to the DVB-C A Tuner, but until I disable it, I cannot re-scan the Bouquetmaker without the same message appearing and stopping the process.
When disabled, the scan works correctly.
Do I need a new DVB-C B tuner, or is something else happening here.
I'm running Open VIX

Can not flash the new image on xtrend receivers

Hi Guys


I have been flashing enigma 2 reveivers for a while now but can not get my xtrend 10000 and xtrend 8000 to flash. It worked on my VU SOLO 2.
This is 5.2 first release. I have tried 3 different USB sticks and it just by passes where it says "press OK to flash".

Anyone else flashed the new image on the xtrend receivers?

[ET10x00] Unable to mount Network Drive

Hi

I have just added a VPN router to my setup. When i have then re-set up my boxes (main box in living room and 2 additional boxes around the house), I am unable to remount the HDD from my main box to the other 2. I thing that IIMG_3176.jpgIMG_3177.jpg have all the setting correct and when I do a network browser scan on my additional boxes, I do find my HDD on the main box, however, I can't mount it. I have been trying since yesterday with different settings with no luck. The screen shot shows my settings and the other shows the error I get when trying to find it as a location.

Does anyone know where I am going wrong?

Residual movie paths

I have recently replaced my two old NAS drives with a single RAID NAS drive. This has left me with several defunct paths shown in the movie paths list when I press the yellow button (Location) from the Movie List.

I have searched the forum and Googled too, but I have found no means of deleting these residual movie paths. Does anyone have any idea how I might do it?

[VU+ Ultimo4K] After updating to 5.2 my external USB harddrive is not discovered

After updating to 5.2 my external USB harddrive has the following error.

FSCK.ext3:Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /DEV/SDB1

/DEV/SDB1 contains a exfat file system labelled 'elements'

The external harddrive was formated exfat and worked OK in the last version.

cables switching

Hello,
I am using two coax cables from two dishes. I can only use one cable at a time and that cable goes directly to my Samsung tv that has a satellite receiver built in. When I want to watch channels from the second satellite dish I have to swap the cables at the back of my tv manually.
Is there any device that would allow me to use both cables without swapping them?
I was thinking of buying a switch such as this one
XCSOURCE SAT DiSEqC Switch 4/1 4x1 HDTV Switcher TV LNB Distributor 950-2400 MHz BI129
however, I don't use DiSEqC so I am sure it won't work.

[VU+ Solo4K] Busy box crib not installing

On my solo 4K I don’t seem to be able to install busybox. Each time I go into the cron timers it asks me to install. When I say yes it just asks me to install again.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Also tried via terminal by doing opkg update && opkg busybox-cron but it failed also.

Issues with VU+ Solo2 remote

Hi,

I bought a (genuine) Solo2 long time ago through "world-of-satellite" store and I managed to set that remote 4-5 years ago with my Technika LED40-248 telly.
After 5 years the original remote looks really bad so I bought another genuine Solo2 remote via "wold-of-satellite" store. It was back in April. (Order ID: 52515)
Today I sat down and tried to "pair" this new Solo2 remote with my Technika telly without luck.
Solo2 remote user manual says the code should be 2870 but it doesnt work.
I was wondering how is that possible that the original remote I received with my Solo2 worked with Technika tv and the new remote doesn't work?
I tried 0000 "scan" by pressing mute button but after 45 mins pressing I gave up.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the code for this Technika telly?

How to USB flash the Octagon SF8008

1) Download latest Enigma2 Image of your choice.
2) USB 2.0or 3.0 minimum 2 GB USB stick formatted with FAT32.
3) Unpack the image and copy BOTH the 'octagon' folder and the 'usb_update.bin' to root of the USB stick.
4) Turn off the box.
5) Plug the USB stick into the USB 3.0 port on the right side.
6) Press and hold the standby button and power on the box until "Updt" is displayed.
6) Select "Recovery From USB" from TV screen menu.
7) Box restarts when update is completed.

[ET8x00] Screen Sizing after Update

I updated my ET8500 via Image manager to 5.2.001 but I don't appear to have the display settings correct although I selected the same settings when going through the install (HDMI - 1080p - multi). On previous updates everything goes through fine and I never have any problems.

On some channels, when I go into any of the menus such as guide or settings the display is too big for the screen. I tried reinstalling but with the same result. On investigation the channels affected are - non-HD channels such as BBC1 NE&C, ITV2, Dave, etc. It affects both Freeview and Satellite.

Unfortunately I don't understand enough about the display settings to diagnose what I need to do.

EPG / Channel list Uk

Morning guys,

Have just received this box from the sponsor, have some questions...

Is there a better EPG as the one for the satellite is pants and on the same topic channel list is there a UK freeview list anywhere as the listing on the box is a right old mess..

Any help or pointer with this would be of great help as in it present state I'm thinking of sending it back...

Im am selling VU+ 4K Uno DVB-C FBC tuner. I purchased beginning of the year for my bedroom but no longer need as now using iptv through new TV. Receiver is fully working will be set with latest vix image. Remote, original power lead and HDMI cable included. As this is not even a year old I am asking for £185 postage included. Open to offers.
