Zgemma H9.2H Flash memory query

Hi, i just ordered a Zgemma H9.2H and afterward I realised there is only 256mb of flash memory so I wondered is this going to work ok with openvix installed and the XE plugin.

My current E2 boxes (different make) have 512mb of flash and there is only around 75mb free, so not sure there will be enough room.

I have read there is an SD card option but is this really required and does it slow the box down.

Stalker-qt freezing the box

Hi , Octagon SF-8008 Vix 5.3.030(rebase) Stalker-qt (1.0+git 64), entered provider Portal info. rebooted, select Stalker, load bar appears, Stalker screen appears, unable to select anything and remote control unresponsive, have to switch off using the switch on the back of box to reboot. anyone throw some light on the subject? tried uninstalling and re installing Stalker using the Plugins facility with no success.

[Zgemma H9.2S] Rewinding Live TV

Please be gentle I'm new to this after moving from a freesat box.

When rewinding a live tv programme nothing seems to happen.

I have timeshift set to start after 10 seconds and set to hdd

When I press << the pic disappears and i get a bar on the screen. After a second or so, a paused pic appears with "Timeshift in progress". Nothing then seems to happen regardless of whether i press << or <|. Tried the centre direction pad and the 1,4,7 buttons
If I press the play >|| button, the tv goes back live.

Am i doing something wrong.

I can pause/restart fine and can record ok (rewinding fine on recordings)

Ax HD61 random restarts

[VU+ Duo2] AutoBouquets Maker Not Updating Channels

Hi, I can't get the following channels to show in my Bouquet despite adding them to my Custom Mix file as shown below: Challenge, Sky History, Sky Documentaries. E! is showing instead of Challenge and Sky History and Sky Documentaries don't show at all.

[VU+ Solo2] DeepSleep

I have noticed that the VU+ Solo2 goes into deep sleep durning the night and then its frozen and the LCD screen shows a pause icon. I have to reboot the box. When in the night the Box is put into standy and not deep sleep.

[ViX_Misc] EPG files test, phase 2: Button mods

I require some people to test some newer EPG files. These allow users to configure what the buttons can do in each EPG screen. The defaults will not be affected.


Minimum requirement:
You must be on 5.3 033. If you try with an earlier image, your receiver may not boot.

If you encounter errors, you must be able to plainly and accurately describe the problem and attach the crash log.
Please say the exact button steps to reproduce the error and any relevant options enabled.
If you are using IPTV, you must remove sensitive details before uploading logs.

Testing new files files:

There are no changes required to skins. If your skin supports all the EPG screens fully, they should work as they do now.
Please note: There are no intentions to make any changes that will require any skin changes.

We have added some functions that you can select. If there are any others you wish to be added, please advise. The options are screen specific at the moment. If there are some screens which you wish to make identical and, please say.
The tabbed bouquets are not included in this test

Please test and use as you like and report back any errors/issues you experience. As with the previous test, I will be soft-deleting posts that are resolved until the end of the trial.

Backing up files:
Create a settings backup that you can restore if things go belly up. Make an extra copy of it on your PC.
Should thngs gow rong, flash and restore will be required.

Test Files
Extract the attachment and transfer the files using FTP
The xml files go in /usr/share/enigma2/
The python folder go in /usr/lib/enigma2/

I use openvix software on all the devices it supports.
is my preference.
I am installing the software on my new octagon sf8008 twin device.
I can not introduce the external hdd I have trouble.
how can i fix this error

Installed Stalker and went to Stalker Setup>OK and Poral URL 1.
How to enter the details like url, port, username and password, as usually, on other plugins
the details are entered on separate lines.

[ViX_Misc] Tuner Setup, inconsistencies between ET10K and Ultimo4K

Not a problem as such, but I'd like to understand why 2 boxes differ so much when setting up tuners.

Xtrend ET10K attachment 1 shows the tuners and attachment 2 shows that tuner A, say, can be configured as T2 or C.

No issues with that.

VU+ Ultimo4K, slot one has a dual T2 tuner, slot 3 has a dual hybrid T2/C tuner. (That's how it was purchased.)

Attachment 3 shows the tuners. The BCM3466 is, as far as I'm aware a dual T2 tuner, not a combined T2/C tuner.
The TT3L10 is the dual hybrid T2/C tuner.

Attachment 4 shows the dialogue when the BCM3466 tuner A is selected. Not the same as the ET10K dialogue.
Despite this, I can change the tuner type to C with the left/right arrows the way tuner setup used to work.
(And, as an aside, the red close button leaves me with the last tuner type selected not the original one.)

If I select Tuner C, TT3L10, I cannot change the tuner type, even though it is a hybrid tuner. All I can do is disable it or leave it as T2.

Maybe slot 1 becomes tuners C and D, and slot 3 becomes tuners A and B, but it still doesn't explain everything.

This commit suggests the BCM3466 is a dual T2, (although there's also a reference to the TT3L10).

Openvix latest Release TM-Nano M3

I have tried to update my Nano M3 to the latest OpenVix release and during the update it talks about " epg tabbed bouquet mods" and doesn't update. I have a Zgemma 9s and it updated without any issues. Any pointer on how to resolve would be welcome or is it just a matter of completing a new update of the release 5.3.033 and building again, plugin ect.

[Zgemma H7] H7S boots up with weird video mode about half the time.

My Zgemma H7S is set up to output 1080p video all the time - to match my full HD TV.

About half the time when the H7S boots up the text on the screen (EPG, list of recordings etc) is perfect 1080p text as I want.

But the other half of the time I can see that although the box is correctly outputting 1080p and I think showing HD TV correctly in full 1080p the text is clearly rendered to some lower resolution, 720p I think, and then stretched (upscaled) to 1080p. It's not horriificly ugly like that or anything but it's not as good, looking rather thin and uneven rather than nice and crisp.

I can't show you a screenshot because, rather bizarrely, it gets rendered perfectly in a screenshot!

Has anybody else seen this effect?

Has anyone any idea how to fix this?

At present I just reboot again until it boots up correctly.

Total Newbie - advice needed for new box please

I am looking for a twin tuner box that will record to my NAS and allow easy playback onto tablets/phones (Android). I have seen recommendations for the AX HD61 box which looks great, although I have some questions about how this or similar boxes work....

These can have a sky like EPG put on to make them user friendly, is that correct?
Is there a series pass option?
How can I playback the recordings - can they be played back via an Android app? (Plex or Kodi?)
I have a cheapo Android box with Kodi on it - can the recordings be access via that?

[ViX_Misc] OpenWebif & Apple Mac

Hi,

Using an Octagon SF8008, with which I'm pretty happy. I have a Mac Mini (not very new), running MacOs Mojave 10.14.6

Webif seems to have a limitation on an Apple Mac, slightly different depending on which browser you use:

On Safari, one cannot stream a channel within the web browser window. If either of the 'viewing' buttons (screen or mobile) beside a channel/programme is pressed, a new tab opens but nothing plays. Manually copying the address of the tab into VLC as a network stream will play the channel. The on-screen 'remote' can be used to navigate menus and an image capture appears in the main window.

On Firefox, I can configure it to launch VLC externally and view a programme. Again, the on-screen 'remote' can be used to navigate menus and an image capture appears in the main window.

I don't like Chrome but downloaded it to see how it behaved. In its default mode, it downloads a file when either TV programme button is pressed. That 'file' if clicked, initially opened iTunes but I've persuaded it to open VLC now, so it works more or less as Safari. Again, the on-screen 'remote' can be used to navigate menus and an image capture appears in the main window.

Is the behaviour of these browsers what is expected on a Mac, or am I missing something in the ViX or browser setup which would allow any of them to open the stream within the browser?
