Zgemma H7S bricked?

Good morning all. I have reflashed my H7S box doing the couch upgrade. It worked fine flashing openvix-5.3.039.release-zgemmah7. The box completed the flash and auto rebooted. But - the box now stops during boot showing "49" on the front panel. It is entirely unresponsive and all i can do is restart it on the rear button. Flashing from USB does not work. The perocedure to power down, put the USB stick in, power on pressing the front under flap button doesn't work. The box simply reboots and stops showing 49 on the front panel. I fear I now have a bricked H7S. What can I do now please?

[CrossEPG-Config] Missing Listings

I've followed the CrossEPG. Deleted epg.dat, ABM and CrossEPG followed by rebooting. Then re-run ABM and CrossEPG. Missing some TV programmes but many more Radio programmes.
I normally update EPG manually each day but as on a boat, have to set up the dish whenever I move.
So, looking for some more answers???

And any answers to CrossEPG issues would be good in the Guide??

[GiGaBlue UHD UE 4K] Satellite Finding and Tuning

I'm using a basic satellite finder - box with audio tone, needle and attenuator. But it seems to fail producing any tone change when using the Unicable, on Tuner A. With the Legacy connection on Tuner B it is better and shows signal strength OK.

But I've a couple of queries:

Unicable SNR 98%, AGC 5%. Legacy SNR 98% but AGC also in mid 90s. With or without box connected. Not sure why??? Tuner B is set to Single for the Legacy connection.

Finder box only produces audio if signal strength display is set to the Tuner B. But if box is disconnected and LNB reconnected to STB, the signal strength is only displayed again when exit from the display and reselect. Which is a bit of a pain.

Humax Foxsat HDR so much better in this respect

Would another satellite finder box be better?? But the WoS shop one is too pricey!!

H9Combo Stutter on Live TV and Playback

This started a couple of weeks ago - watching live TV (terrestrial freeview, any channel) or playback via wifi, picture freezes for a second, then rushes to catch up. Happens again a few seconds later. Sound is unaffected.

It was intermittent - problem one evening, no problem the following evening - without any changes being made to the box. Now it is constant.

I have since upgraded VIX to latest version, but it has made no difference.

Any suggestions?

Box was bought in January 2020.

F1 box and usb flashing

Hi guys,
Just a quick question. I need to update my mums F1 image.
Currently on it is an old version 5.1...something. So I know I have to usb update.
The stick is formatted correctly and working fine. The latest image has been unzipped onto it. The box registers the stick and image to flash when I reboot the box. Press power and the display says flashing and thatÂ’s where it stays. Nothing else happens until i reboot the box and take out the usb. The box then boots back into the old image.

Anyone else had any similar issues or more importantly how to resolve this?

GB Receiver Freezing

Another day, another issue.

Switched on radio this morning and after a short while sound ceased and box completely frozen. Remote and power button didn't work. So main switch reset. Had to do it again a couple of times. Now been on for 40 mins.

Noticed the following:

Radio screen graphics is no longer full screen after selecting a station. Just top right corner.
When in Radio, selecting guide brings up TV stations. It used to, yesterday, show Radio stations.

[ET10x00] RF Out with different tuners

Could anyone please walk me through how to connect my new (to me) ET10000 to a loftbox to distribute an RF signal. This arrangement worked fine with my previous Technomate TM Twin OE which had a dedicated RF output. I kept that unit until now despite its limitations (using Open Vix 3.x.xx) because when I tried to upgrade it I was told that most modern tuners distribute their signals via 4K outputs and do not have RF outputs. I passed on that solution as none of my tvs can handle that resolutuion.

I have 4 tuners installed on the Xtrend - 1 x AVL6211 (DVB-S2) (active) and 3 x TDA10024 (DVB-C) tuners (all unused) and at the moment am using openvix 5.3.039 to access UK freesat and an IPTV feed which work perfectly well on the tv that is directly connected to the ET10000 by HDMI.


Is this possible to distribute the signal using my existing tuners as I can't find any reference to RF output anywhere within the setup menu options. Is this actually possible with this version of Open Vix or do I need additional hardware or a different tuner?

[ViX_Misc] Autotimers and Description Uniqueness

Hi. Hope someone can help with the following problem.

I'm in the UK, Freeview only. OpenViX version 5.3.038, Autotimer version 4.3.2.

My usual autotimer setup is to specify 'Check for uniqueness in Title and Short description'. While many autotimers work as expected, quite a few refuse to find more than a single programme, normally the first.

After many frustrating hours of experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that the failure only occurs in cases where the description is not unique enough to satisfy whatever algorithm is used. For example, a programme with a generic description for all episodes, but with a small variable part specifying the series/episode numbers, or perhaps the episode title.

This conclusion appears to be confirmed when I came across a forum topic from around 5 years ago (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...mer-Uniqueness), which mentions a similarity of around 70%, so presumably the uniqueness has to be over 30% or so to qualify as unique ?

So, can anyone provide a solution to this, please. I noticed that the above forum topic talks about patches to the Autotimer code, but I guess these haven't been implemented for one reason or another.

[ET10x00] epg refresh not working query

On the odd time with gaps in my EPG data I would rerun EPG Refresh and it worked fine. Now I have a different line of reference not seen before.
Other boxes can still run EPG Refresh so not sure.

Just to add the first image below shows EPG Refresh on the Zgemma 7HS which works, but has changed on my Xtrend ET10000 and no updates run.

A better UK powewr pack for AXHD61

I got the box and like it a lot but the configuration for the power lead is a joke. Its a brick with a 2 pin prong and then that is stuck into a UK 3 pin adaptor!!!

But it looks awful sticks out a mile and makes a mess of my tv stand ie pushes it out from wall.

Is there a better solution?

I'm about five years into motor neurone disease and gradually losing the use of my hands. So I'm beginning to wonder generally about how to control the various devices I use in my life.

On the mut@nt I'm wondering whether anybody knows of any voice control options – I found some stuff on the Humax forums about using Alexa and Wi-Fi which seems to be a bit clunky because it can only change channels and not look at the saved programs – and we rarely watch anything live these days using the recording function to watch things when we want to.

I see there is Alexa skill for the Virgin TiVo But of course we don't use our virgin connection for media as such, only ADSL

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Box recommendation please

Hi

Been out of the game for years living abroad so I'm totally out of touch. Dad is after a new box, only needs to be 1080p (higher is fine just not a requirement). He'd like the box to be able to transcode to 720p 4Mbps. Is this currently possible with any boxes? Transcoding was extremely flakey before I left and I think settings only let you go up to 1Mbps at the time and the CPU's couldn't keep up with it. Both DVB-T and DVB-S to mix Freeview and Freesat in the UK.

[GiGaBlue QUAD] Missing Picons

Hi guys I have just installed the latest vix image on gigablue quad (5.2 045). I have it up and running but im looking to install up to date picons . I have them located on my hardrive but im missing a lot of the picons for the channels.
I had a old set on my pc and they must be outdated, Some are Showing others are not.
I have two questions:
Which set do I download from within: Plugins: Download Plugins: Picons, for astra 28.2
Also I seen On of the guides on here that it can be fixed using LraiZerÂ’s AutoBouquets 28.2. Im using Autobouqets that is installed from the vix image. (can it be used instead if so what options do I use) Do I have to install LraiZerÂ’s AutoBouquets 28.2

Hi Guys

I have just bought a new box from our sponsers to replace my aging ET9200. Absolutely nothing wrong with the box, and great service by the way!
I have installed the Blue-HD Skin and have noticed looking at the Recordings menu that the rows are overlapping:

The 'old' me would know how to correct this immediately, but I am somewhat of a lapsed user and am embarrassed to admit that I no longer have any idea :confused:

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
