[ET10x00] Grid EPG highlight bug

$

Possible bug – minor annoyance
Although I’m now running OpenVix 5.3.039 I’ve seen this in previous 5.3.xx versions all using the Vix-Night-HD (1280 x 720) skin

In the grip EPG display the highlighting of consecutive programs on a channel goes wrong. The selected program is correctly highlighted but the program before or after goes dark. Sometimes the highlighting of the previous program is highlighted as well as the current position (two different programs highlighted).

Changing pages in the grid EPG and then going back to the page with the problem restores the initial condition but highlighting programs in turn will result in an identical fault with regards dark listings or double highlighting.

I’m finding that between 1 and 3 channel EPG listings behave in this way every time I select the grid EPG.

Example screen shots with the problem on the Film4 listing

It looks like the inversion colour of the text remains overalyed on the previous text colour

Hello.

Everyone.

Can anyone point me to a video or tutorial on how to set up the SX88+ with a GBOX positioner.
Where do I start in the SX88 menus.
Any videos seem to be in German & none of them show what to enter in the SX88 menus on how to setup the receiver.

Thank you for any help.
Tony.

Hi All, hoping someone can help me. I purchased a new uno4kse receiver and I am having problems with the remote control, When I try to set the box up the light on the front of the box flashes once I hit a command but nothing happens on the tv. I have tried different compatable vu remotes, and the same end result. ive seen this happen on an older zero box and solo2 box. I have a QLED tv, and tried with the IR extender also with no joy, I am using the remote for Vu on my mobile for now as a temp solution. The misses wouldnt be to hot on using it and wants the remote going. Any help would be appreciated.:)

zgemma h9 twin no signal

hi all, newbie here to it all. I have tried to set up the zgemma h9 twin to my existing sky satellite but for some reason there is no signal.

I have attached pictures of the screen from skyq along with the screens of zgemma and the satellite i have outside.

When I chose 28.2E Astra 2E/2F/2G it says tuning then failed. However when I later skiped the settings I was able to get some up to 98 channels but none where bbc1, itv etc.

Would anybody be able to help me with what settings I could use to scan the zgemma box so I can get the freesat channels.

Thanks :)

new GBQUAD4K no longer responding to its remote control handset

Sorry my first post is this dire. Faults, issues and bugs - on the bright side... the packing box looks nice.

As my introduction to general satellite receivers:
* prev - HUMAX PVRs FreeSAT - self-install 10yrs+
* plan - upgrade(?) more channels/content - more simultaneous recordings
* now - failed two day old new GBQUAD4K installation

R/C functionality used to work...
* handset LED is still flashing green
* box front panel not longer flickers in conjunction
* handset OEM batteries checked on meter - good
...but no longer 'responsive' - handset tx? - box rx?

Bought recommended dongle in the tools thread from your shop. Whilst R/C was actually working could not get dongle working. Remember seeing -200dBm which seemed excessively low. After the R/C functionality 'died' I increased my router WiFi output from a secure 25% to 100% - manually whitelisted the box's MAC. Always found WiFi in general to be awful ...my own opinion.

With no R/C functionality the box's front switches
are ...very much lacking in overall functionality(!).
* BUG: unable to invoke onscreen virtual keyboard
* BUG: unable to input (encryption) network code
* BUG: unable to actually SAVE any of above 'edits'

Downloaded APP: 'GB Player 1.5 build 27 - iPhone' tryin to use R/C. There is no 'UHD QUAD 4K' device optioned and, of course, it can't find 'anything'. Could be WiFi, APP or just my current luck with the QBQUAD4K box.

Otherwise installed a 1Gbps CAT5 connection to my intranet switch. My LINUX server hooks to/from the internet over optical broadband. The OS has been reporting that it is 'up-to-date' re: download.

I use Public/Private Key (PuTTY) sessions between my LINUX server & W10 workstation. Propose to try(!?) to get a similar hookup running (on the same intranet). Foresee missing usern/passw difficulty... are there any known defaults? I don't recollect being asked to input a usern/passw during the install. The paper manual in the box is in the German language. The forum sticky PDF is ...not a lot better ...to be frank or even Franck.

This is a right old mess already. My own mistakes notwithstanding nor my admitted lack of knowledge of general satellite receivers. Beginning to rue the decision to throw away over a decade of faultless HUMAX FREESAT viewing and recordings to take up with Unicable II (not installed yet), bigger dish (the shippers delivered mismatched parts in an open & broken box without any protective packing whatsoever) and a satellite meter ('used' unit was delivered instead of it being brand new - its last used memory location was somewhere in the English Channel?). Not overly surprised that the GBQUAD4K is also proving problematic.

I also installed a new 9mm high 2TB Barracuda 2.5in HDD which seems quiet enough in use. The OS was apparently able to fully recognise the extent of the HDD. The mounting assembly's metal legs are unnecessarily tall. Seemingly this is an aspect of design to deter users from installing a much bigger, more useful and appropriate HDD. There is a small gap between the top of the HDD and the underside of top of the box which includes perforations (passive cooling).

Is this support forum able to assist me in any way? Without an operational R/C and with a wholly inadequate set of front panel controls I am metaphorically up the creek and most certainly without the requisite non-optional paddle. Stuffed (to be technical).

Raised a Support ticket with your shop, received their acknowledgement email but nothing else yet.

I'm trying to change the output resolution to 720p to work with an InFocus X1 from 2001.
Changed the video settings to 720p but the X1 does not seem to work with the frequencies.
X1 manual indicates Scanning frequency horizontal 31.5-80 kHz vertical 50-85 Hz
X1 works fine with a Sony RXD-HDR 770 Freeview recorder when set to 720p.
X1 tries to search for signal, a brief flicker on screen, and resumes search. Tried 60/50 and Multi

[VU+ Solo2] Client Mode

Hi, I've added Google Wifi to my network, I am using a Vu+ Solo2 upstairs in client mode connected to a Solo4k downstairs. I can view all the channels and I can watch the Solo 4 recordings, but it's not importing the EPG or channels list. This was working before when the two boxes were connected by home plugs, but these are now not functioning hence the move to Mesh.

Any help appreciated,
TIA
Colin.

Autotimer - default to daily

$

I've been a user of OpenVix for several years and love it.
One little thing that's bothered me is the Autotimer default of limiting the recording to a day of the week.
Is it possible to change the default to record daily?

From my point of view, the default seems wrong.
If a program is on weeekly but the Autotimer defaults to daily, then no harm done! The user won't even know as their program will get recoreded.
However, if the program is on daily, then the user has to take action to change the Autotimer

Thoughts?

OpenViX 5.4 released!

$

OpenViX 5.4 is based on the OE-Alliance v4.4 core. You cannot perform an online update if you are currently on OpenViX 5.3.xxx or older.

The easiest way to flash latest OpenVix image is to do the following:

First:
Download the image to your receiver's storage device
Blue button > ViX > Image manager > Yellow (Downloads) > Select OpenViX > Select image version > Press OK
You will see the download status

Second:
Once downloaded, you should still be in Image manager and the latest image should be highlighted.
Ensure you have the correct image selected then press the Blue button (Flash)
The new image will flash and box will reboot when completed

You can then restore settings and plugins from OpenViX 5.3 series images after you have flashed the image. This will restore most things to how you had them before.

RESTORE PROCESS WILL NOT RESTORE PLUGINS THAT ARE NOT ON THE CURRENT PLUGIN SERVER. THESE MUST BE INSTALLED MANUALLY.

There are many guides to flash/restore. Here is another

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...p-and-Restores

So what is different in OpenViX 5.4 then?
OpenViX 5.3 build 039 was the final build in the 5.3 series.

As with previous images, the main differences are core of the image or the OE (Open Embedded). This has undergone a lot of changes, updates and fixes.

***Password required for FTP, TELNET & SSH!*** SEE GUIDE HERE!

  • Factory reset procedure was overhauled.
  • Simplified menu path system.
  • Action controls changed. Stay on 5.3 if your plugins don't work properly/as before.
  • Enigmalight working from plugin server apart from Vu Arm receivers.
  • EPG buttons customisable. Long press EPG / Guide / Info buttons to change defaults.
  • Some of Kiddac's skins on plugin server.

  • Some Gigablue remotes button remapped so they can access Help function. More changes to come to Help system.

CrossEPG is no longer pre-installed in OpenViX 5.3 onwards. OpenTV EPG has now been embedded, EPG Refresh is now pre-installed to enabled re-freshing or EPG data for Sky UK Astra 28.2deg and Sky Italia Hotbird 13deg. See EPG Refresh setup guide HERE (thanks to Abu Baniaz for the guide). Thank you goes to LraiZer for the OpenTV code and thank you Huevos for merging the code into OpenViX.

Apart from the above users should not notice many other differences between previous OpenViX 5.3 and OpenViX 5.4 (i.e. there are not many functional differences.).

Known Image issues
Dreamplex - Some users in certain setup's may have issues.

Known Plugin/Receiver issues
Older receivers with lower amounts of memory struggle with downloading OpenTV EPG data using Cross EPG downloader. Use a swap file in such cases.
Some 3rd party plugins may not be currently compatible with OE-A 4.4 core, streaming plugins may require their respective author's to add dependencies for GST 1.xx.
HbbTV not working for all receivers. Please raise issue with respective Manufacturer.

Finding out remote ID codes

Attached is a python file by prl to find the key id code without having to check the debug logs.

You will need to find out which event number to use. It is a case of trial and error.
FTP to /dev/input/ and see what the possible options are.

Example usage:
Stop enigma2 with "init 4" command
Transfer to /media/hdd using ftp
Issue the following commands:

cd /media/hdd
python rccodes.py /dev/input/event1

When you press a button, you will see output like:
1602541075.733029: type 1(0x0001) code 403(0x0193) val: 1(0x00000001) keyName: KEY_CHANNELDOWN

Just flashed my Ultimo 4K with 5.4 001 image. It seems you can not return from menus at any point with menubutton. Instead you have to use exitbutton.
