Mutant 2400 gone bottom-up?

My mutant 2400 seems to have gone bottom-up – it is responding very slowly if at all to the remote which before you ask was charged up this weekend just in case that was the problem and has not recorded any of things I wanted to record.

I tried to reflash it with VIX version 5.0 from version 4 point something and it sat there saying "flashing" for an hour before I turned it off and turned it back on again where it was stuck on broadcasting ITV one for some reason (this is a channel I very rarely look at)

Can anybody suggest what I need to do to it to wake it up or sorted out or is it fit for the bin?

5.4.001 untranslatable menus

Hi,

For example in EPG settings menu, there are many words that are translated, but not shown in GUI.
Words like "Event info", "Timer menu", "EPG search", "Do nothing".

Are those coming from some plugins?

Help identifying problem

Hi,

I've got a motorised dish which is about 10 years old with a vu duo 4k. In the last year or so I've had this problem where initialy when I go to watch a channel on another satellite, say 19.2, it seems to 'struggle' to lock on so I'll get a blocky image or it will fail to tune and usually if I leave it a few minutes it then connects. Sometimes it resolves the issue if I go to another satellite channel on another satellite (say 23.5) and then return to the channel. Finally if that doesn't work if I go into my tuner settings and change my longitude or latitude slighlty (this can be forwards and then back to a previous setting so I retain my original location) and then switch from one satellite to another and back it usually tunes in fine; it will then be robust for days on end with no issues.

It feels to me like to motor is perhps in need of replacing but then if it were I don't understand how it manages to tune in eventaually, I'd expect it to slip out of alignment and lose the signal entirely.

Any ideas what could be the cause or any more information I can gove to help diagnose the problem?

Whilst looking at /var/log/messages for a different issue I've noticed that my Vu+ Duo 4k is polling all of my other boxes every 5 minutes.
I've clearly cocked something up on the Duo 4K but no idea what. Any ideas?

Hi all after a channel scan where is the file located. i cheat abit with my sattellite xml file as my dish is not bob on. Getting a new box so i want to just ftp all my files over once i falsh it with vix to save me from scanning all the channels/Sats again.

[CrossEPG-Config] Free Sports HD

I'd like to add Free Sports HD which used to be on Freesat but like Ch 4 HD has left, but signal is still up there on Astra 2E (28.2°E): 11426 V 29500 8/9 (HD). Also on Sky 422.

So, I assume that I can add in a similar way to Ch 4HD:

1. Manually scan the transponder that has FS HD first

2. Transfer the xml file that will add the customisation to the Bouquets created by ABM. You must run ABM agian after transferring files so that bouquets are made using it.

For the xml custom mix file, can I edit the current custom mix by duplicating the Ch 4 line and changing the details for FS HD??

Or write another custom mix file and copy into the same location??

And would be great to have coloured tuning bars like this I saw in another post:

GigaBlue Remote Handset Freezing

I find if I press the TV, DVD or AUX buttons at the top, the handset freezes/locks up and has to be reset using TV and 0.

Just wondered if there was a fix??

[VU+ Duo] Openvix 5.4.001 crashes while entering the end time of a timer

OpenViX 5.4.001 crashes while the end time of a timer on a channel on a different transponder frequency is being entered while recording is in progress, with only one DVB-S2 tuner enabled.
Such a crash has already happened to me twice. Each time I was entering the end of the timer, having entered the beginning of the timer first.
So far I have been able to avoid it by entering the end of the timer first, before entering the beginning of the timer.
More details will probably be added later.

[VU+ Ultimo4K] Crash lowers amount of channels can record at once

I've got 2 Twin FBC tuners with 4 sat cables connected to a normal LNB.

I think I had a crash a day or so earlier before I noticed this problem: I was recording 8 channels at once and it wouldn't let me record any more even though it normally does. I think I stopped the timers then I rebooted the box. It then let me record more than 8 channels.

After a crash you have to stop anything recording before rebooting your box because if any timers immediately start recording again when your box reboots after a crash then it won't let you record more than 8 channels.

The "can record less programmes at once than normal" problem always happens after the box crashes. I recorded the same channels before and after the crash to keep the experiment fair.

Log attached. Would it be possible to fix this for the next image release please?

[VU+ Ultimo4K] Box crashes when exiting out of record button menu

When watching a channel press the down arrow to bring up your bouquet. Press the record button on something already recording. If I then press the exit button instead of selecting “Stop recording now” or “Record next” then the box will crash. This happens 100% of the time.

I don't know if this will show in the above log but another bug is that when watching a channel I press the down arrow to bring up my custom bouquet then I go to BBC One HD and press the EPG button. It shows me the EPG for BBC Two HD instead of the EPG for BBC One HD. I'm using CrossEPG 0.8.7. I'm using the exact same EPG settings as I do on a different box with my 5.3.039 image but I'm only getting this problem on my 5.4.001 image.

When watching a channel if I press the EPG button to show the grid EPG thing then it shows the correct EPG for BBC One HD.

Hallo,
ich habe das Img ausprobiert und finde es super, habe jedoch einige Fragen:

1. Wo ist die Einstellung, dass mit einem kurzen Druck auf die Ein/Aus Taste der Receiver direkt herunterfährt?
2. Wie kann ich einstellen, dass die 0-Taste zum letzten Kanal zapt, wie das standard bei den meisten Imgs ist?
3. Die Einstellung Tasten-Einstellungen ist schrecklich und total unverständlich, ich verstehe überhaupt nicht wie man diese Funktion bedient?

Habe eine Xtrend ET9200 und eine Gigablue Quad 4k mit aktuellem OpenVix.

IPTV / Sat box options

I'm looking for an IPTV box which has a satellite input and the ability to act as a WiFi extender in a dead zone in the house.
The location has a sat input and a LAN port.
Would prefer 4k too.
Ability to wall/TV mount

Any recommendations?

[Mut@nt] HD51 Client mode

After updating both my main two receivers to the latest vix image I can no longer get client mode to work, my set up is vu ultimo 4k as slave down stairs, mutant hd51 upstairs I can telnet to the mutant also my extream tv app works so no internet issues, client mode will not work, however client mode will work on the vu ultimo any idea any one ?

Hi,

I have for sale 1 x Gigable HD Quad receiver with 4 tuners.

It was a warranty replacement but I haven't had much use since I received it.

As you can see from the pictures, some of the plastic wrapping still exists.

W10 - Windows Fly Across Ultra Wide Screen at Random

I'm using W10 on a PC with a 49" Samsung Ultra Wide Screen. I view programmes in windows about A4 size, and drag them to the centre area of the screen. I'm using a bluetooth keyboard with a track pad. As I move my finger on the trackpad, the displayed windows have a random habit of flying across the screen and down into the left hand bottom corner.

Which is getting a little boring.

I can't find a setting to disable this action??

Any suggestions.
